CRACKED WHEAT
Cracked Wheat is an independent folk-rock group, based in Abbotsford, BC. Their debut EP 'Jar Of Reality' releases on Friday, November 1, 2024.
The band is headed by singer/songwriter Jennifer Morrison. Although Jar Of Reality is the band's debut, they are certainly not newcomers. Jennifer has been plying her trade for well over a decade, writing, busking and performing live with the band. This EP is but a few of the gems that Jennifer has penned, waiting in the wings.
You could describe their music as 'groovy folk rock' with some swagger and highlighted by Jennifer's deeply personal and introspective lyrics. Jennifer, on acoustic guitar & lead vocals is backed by a solid rhythm section; Geoff 'Boomchops' Pratt on drums & backing vocals and Eddie 'Big Bottom' Ram on bass & backing vocals.
For Jar Of Reality, Jennifer invited some musical mates to round out the sound; Chandra Russell (organ, piano & flute), Amber Ablaze (electric & nylon guitar, mandolin & banjo) and Steve 'Steamboat' Hutton on violin. The record's producer, Michael Fisher added some synth textures to the closing track 'Sentiments Of Instruments'.
This debut has been a long time in the making.. we hope you enjoy it!
